Visa Application for Georgia

Visa-Free Entry

Citizens of certain countries can enter Georgia without a visa.

Additionally, holders of a “Laissez-passer” travel document issued by the United Nations or its specialized agencies may enter Georgia and stay for up to one year.

Australia, Azerbaijan, Albania, United States, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, United Arab Emirates, Argentina, New Zealand, Barbados, Bahrain, Bahamas, Belarus, Belize, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, Brunei, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ecuador, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Japan, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Canada, Qatar, Colombia, South Korea, Costa Rica, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mauritius, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Moldova, Aruba, Netherlands Antilles, Norway, Oman, Panama, Russia, South Africa, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Seychelles, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Serbia, Singapore, Armenia, Thailand, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, The Holy See, Croatia, Honduras, Jordan.

EU and UK Citizens

Citizens of 26 European Union member states can enter Georgia without a visa for up to one year using either a passport or EU identity card.
This rule also applies to UK citizens and residents of UK overseas territories: Bermuda, Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands, Falklands, Turks and Caicos, Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey, and Isle of Man.


Who Needs a Visa?

  • Citizens of all other countries require a valid visa to enter Georgia.

  • Exceptions: Citizens of China, Egypt, Guyana, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Peru holding valid diplomatic or official/service passports may enter for a specific period.

Visas can be obtained via Georgian embassies or consulates, through electronic application or the e-visa portal. The processing time ranges from 5 to 30 calendar days, depending on the visa category.


Transit Passengers

  • Crew members of international airlines, railways, or sea transport, and passengers with intermediate transfers, do not need a visa to pass through Georgia.

  • Travelers must have a valid entry document for their destination country.

  • Transit is allowed for up to 10 days with the permission of Georgian border police.
